Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting an internal session that sparked meaningful conversations across our teams. Led by Cosmin Vlăduțu, a full-stack developer with deep experience in leadership, the talk focused on what it really takes to build strong, motivated, and collaborative teams in today’s fast-paced tech environment.

Cosmin opened the session by encouraging us to think beyond roles and responsibilities. While technical expertise is crucial, it’s often the human qualities—like trust, empathy, adaptability, and self-awareness—that determine how well a team functions. He shared stories from his own career, emphasizing the value of personal growth and team alignment over rigid structures or fixed methods.

One part of the discussion that particularly stood out was how different types of contributors bring value to a team: from the doers who execute with consistency, to the motivators and mentors who uplift others, and the planners who provide direction. Recognizing these roles helps teams operate with more intention and mutual respect.

Cosmin also revisited the classic Tuckman model of team development—Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, and Adjourning—reminding us that understanding where a team is in its journey can make collaboration more fluid and expectations more realistic.

Ultimately, the session left us with a clear message: great teams are not simply assembled—they are shaped by consistent effort, open communication, and a willingness to support one another’s growth. We're thankful to Cosmin for his insight and to everyone who joined the conversation with openness and curiosity.
